Guys I am really overwhelmed by the lovely responses on my last Skate post. It was actually quite simple and it didn't convey all the Skate layers. If I knew my list would explode with love I would elaborate more. Maybe I should make this some sort of habit since we still have two months ahead of us because I do have a giant picspam from S1-S3 on my folder. I wish I could update with S4 and S5 pics BUT unfortunately my program (Fireworks) is expired or something and I don't know a thing about photoshop.
Just a tiny rant. I wish I had 100 icons on my livejournal account, but they only accept credit card and the other option is probably too much work. I shouldn't bite the hand that feeds, but this is kinda sucky livejournal.

after watching episodes of dr. who with 
ava last night, i was suddenly reminded of two YA series i read when i was 13 or 14. at first i remembered incorrectly and thought the two were part of the same series, but then i remembered that one involved subliminal messages being transmitted through television sets in order to control the general population. the other involved a teenage boy who was being hounded by an international gang of skinheads, computer hackers and had tons of action. i was getting really frustrated when i couldn't find the 2nd series i mentioned, but \0/
after an hour's worth of research, i discovered that the books were:
1) the demon headmaster series by gillian cross
2) code of deception and code of the roadies by ted ottley => don't read the product summary since the reviewer gives away EVERYTHING in his spoilers
i've already reserved the ottley books at the bibliothèque so i can re-read them and discover how much my tastes have [or haven't!] changed in the last decade
funnily enough, when i first googled keywords associated with the ottley series [like "YA novel series, teenage boy, german villain, mind control"], the first result was "incest in popular fiction" ROFLROFLROFL. even when i'm not actively looking for incest, the universe wants me to read it *grins*
i then spent the next hour googling various YA novels i remembered reading between the ages of 12-14, even though it was 4:30am by that point *facepalm*
and now, it is time for an icon meme!

1) i'm a big watchmen fan, and the comedian's one of the most interesting and repulsive characters in the graphic novel. i love this icon b/c although the scene it's from is truly horrid, the caption and the expressions on the actors' faces make me lol without fail. plus it has JDM, which makes it a very suitable icon for any posts that involve SIR.next up, the DEBAUCHERY MEME
2) haha this is one of the first icons i got after joining the spn fandom b/c the boys keep arguing so much on the show and in fics, and the speech bubbles capture that perfectly.
3) OMG. jared looks so freaking BEAUTIFUL in this icon that i end up staring it for a few seconds every single time i use it! it's from "in my time of dying" if i remember correctly, and both the episode and this icon make me feel all mushy. i just want to hug sam with his floppy hair and intent eyes and rub away the tension in his mouth [or get his bro to do it for him].
4) roflroflrofl OK SOMEONE TELL ME WHICH EP THIS ICON IS FROM B/C I DUNNO. it's HILARIOUS though, and i have a macro that goes along with it. pervy!sam is pervy. and hawt. slirrrrrrrp! *wants to crawl into sam's lap*
5) ah, one of my many american psycho icons! love the book, the movie, christian bale, and how lolarious the caption is - especially since he does that awesome dance soon after this scene \0/

The BAFTA event - I'm not sure if any of you guys were planning on going (If not - you should it's gonna be great!) Anyway just don't book your trains or babysitters etc yet! The tickets themselves are only £7.50 but I know travel and stuff can be expensive and Sinead (aka Nina) has said today that actually the cast have been booked for the 7th...just to let you know there might have been a mistake with the date.
So how many of you guys are planning on gong? Theres only about 250 tickets and as its in London I think they might sell out pretty quickly so get in there :-)

it's nothing personal; i was just having an incredibly difficult time wading through my cluttered flist. i mean, i had ljs from the harry potter, supernatural, good omens, fringe, flashforward, heroes, twilight, vampire diaries AND watchmen fandoms on my flist; not to mention a few bollywood, pop culture and personal journals. it got to the point where i'd easily have ~600 new posts to go through on a daily basis, and that's just WAY TOO MUCH. so i went ahead and defriended folks who never bother commenting to my own posts, ljs that haven't been updated in a while, and comms that no longer interest me.
since i've just removed ~400 ljs from my flist, i definitely might have clicked on a few names in error. IF YOU THINK YOU'VE BEEN DEFRIENDED BY MISTAKE, PLEASE COMMENT TO THIS POST! this especially applies to the new folks i've met through spn friending memes and anyone who's on my twitter. comments are screened ♥

Maybe it's a good thing I waited until WB sent the photo. Here's the first hi-res official promo of DH part one, featuring the trio in London running away from Death Eaters. ( Trio on the run. )
So, yesterday I spent my day trying to make a music video (I failed, but it's okay) and while I didn't manage to achieve what I wanted, I remind myself how utterly pretty Sawyer and Kate are. I still think they have potential to be the best ship that graced the small screen (Even beating Mulder and Scully... I know it's crazy, but it's true). It will depend on what Season 6 will achieve, specially with the suckiness of S5 (And in a lesser extent on Season 4). Why do I feel this, you ask? Among many reasons: The whole lost souls seeking for redemption demeanor, the writing/development, the equality they share, the heartbreaking characterization of their lives and even destiny playing a part (Ugh. I hate to use this argument because it's so Jate-ish, but their pasts were so connected that you just can't avoid to think that).
They have the hottest first kiss on the TV story.
They have the most romantic sex scene on the TV story (Cage!sex... On cages... The whole metaphor. Hell, an entire episode dedicated to them. Even a music theme).
They were willing to DIE for each other.
They even broke the mold for each other.
They have several separations. Some even 'tragic'. (Bonus points because Kate kept a promise she made because he asked for three years. The cannon writing supporting she find some peace with Aaron because of what she felt for Sawyer).
The island freaking bend the time and space rules so Sawyer could see Kate again. For what he thought it was the last time (And Josh's expression it's so heartbreaking and... honest. Freaking pure love). Never mind there are parallels with Little Prince (Kate as his rose) and when the island takes away that moment from his is just the saddest thing ever.
They have a beautiful reunion scene (I will ignore the bleak and angst free first dialog on the following episode).
I remembered why I love them in the first place. Season 5 was bleak, kinda of cold, so unlike them (The whole 'maturity' sucked their fun and life) and although Season 6 promise an angst start due one of the most contrived plot ever, they still have it. The chemistry that basically only 0.000001% of ships share (I found them chemistry-less this season at points, but I noticed the closer Sawyer got to be Sawyer the spark they had... so it was off mostly due the writing). The story you kind of wish your favorite couple have it. The story the opposite sides deny, but envy so much it's funny.
And their love story started on a tropical island.
Basically: Beat that.
